Lakeland dropped their record down to 8-5 on Thursday, which also ended the team's three-game streak of wins. They fell just short of the Great Bridge Wildcats by a score of 2-1. Having soared to a lofty ten runs in the game before, the Cavaliers couldn't push the score so high this time.

As for Great Bridge, they have been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 10-5 record this season. Those wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 6.8 runs over those games.

For Great Bridge's part, the team relied heavily on Jaxen Whitehurst, who went 2-for-3 with two stolen bases, one run, and one double.

We've got plenty of inter-region action coming up soon. Lakeland is set to challenge their familiar foe Hickory at 5:45 p.m. on Tuesday.
