Softball Preview: Sneads Pirates vs. Blountstown Tigers

Sneads is 9-1 against Blountstown since March of 2016, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Friday. The Sneads Pirates will head out on the road to take on the Blountstown Tigers at 6:00 p.m. Sneads is strutting in with some hitting muscle, as they've averaged 8.6 runs per game this season.

Last Wednesday, Sneads came up short against Franklin County and fell 6-2. It was the first time this season that Sneads let down their fans at home.

Addisyn Duboise and Carrington Scott stepped up to the plate in a big way. Duboise scored a run while going 2-for-4, while Scott got on base in all three of her plate appearances with two stolen bases and a double. Another player making a difference was MacKenzie Walker, who went 1-for-4 with a stolen base and two RBI.

Even though they lost, Sneads was hitting in the alleys and finished the game with three doubles. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Franklin County only hit no.

Meanwhile, in what's become a running theme this season, Blountstown gave their fans yet another huge win on Thursday. They put the hurt on Maclay with a sharp 12-5 victory. The win was just what Blountstown needed coming off of a 15-5 defeat in their prior matchup.

Abbygale Pena was incredible, scoring four runs and stealing a base while going 3-for-4. The team also got some help courtesy of Cyianna Smith, who scored three runs and stole two bases while getting on base in three of her five plate appearances.

Sneads' loss ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 6-4. As for Blountstown, they are on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four games, which provided a nice bump to their 7-3 record this season.
