Preview: Argonia Red Raiders vs. South Barber Chieftains
Argonia is 0-8 against South Barber since December of 2014 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Friday. The Argonia Red Raiders' road trip will continue as they head out to face the South Barber Chieftains at 7:30 a.m. on December 15th. Hopefully Argonia focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 21 on Tuesday.
It's never fun to lose, and it's even less fun to lose 68-34, which was the final score in Argonia's tilt against Cunningham. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points Argonia has scored all season.
Despite their loss, Argonia saw several players rise to the challenge and make noteworthy plays. Maddex Hemberger, who scored 12 points along with four steals, was perhaps the best of all. Those four steals set a new season-high mark for him. The team also got some help courtesy of Dalton Morrison, who scored 12 points.
Meanwhile, South Barber didn't have too much breathing room in their contest against South Haven on Tuesday, but they still walked away with a 51-46 win.
Argonia's defeat dropped their record down to 1-4. As for South Barber, they now have a winning record of 2-1.
Argonia might still be hurting after the 58-33 loss they got from South Barber when the teams last played back in December of 2022. Can Argonia avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
