Basketball Recap: Boiling Springs Comes Up Short

Boiling Springs lost against Dorman back in December of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The Boiling Springs Bulldogs were beaten by the Dorman Cavaliers 75-43. While losing is never fun, the Bulldogs can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' South Carolina basketball rankings (they are ranked 137th, while the Cavaliers are ranked 16th).

Despite the loss, Boiling Springs still got an impressive performance from Makenzie Kinard, who posted 22 points and four steals. Kinard has been hot for a while, having posted two or more steals the last ten times she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Akerah Morris, who put up three points and three blocks.

Dorman's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Morgan White led the charge by going 9 for 13 en route to 22 points and six rebounds. Another player making a difference was Rihanna Wallace, who went 7 of 8 on her way to 16 points along with seven assists and six boards.

Boiling Springs is on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 6-12. As for Dorman, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won nine of their last ten contests, which provided a nice bump to their 13-5 record this season.

Boiling Springs will welcome Spartanburg at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Spartanburg is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 50.8 points per game this season. As for Dorman, they will head out to take on Riverside at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. One thing working in Dorman's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points in their last eight matchups.
