Softball Recap: Make It Three in a Row for Carolina Forest

Carolina Forest had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 6 runs) and they went ahead and made it three on Thursday. They walked away with a 7-2 win over the Wilson Hall Barons. That result was just more of the same for these two, as the Panthers also won the last time the pair played back in March of 2023.

Lydia Gardner made a big impact while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, tossing four innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off four hits. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than one earned run in five consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, going 2-for-3 with two RBI. That's the most RBI she has posted since back in March of 2024.

In other batting news, Carolina Forest let Natalie Nesheiwat and Kylee Warehime run wild. Nesheiwat scored two runs while going 2-for-3, while Warehime went 2-for-3 with three RBI and one double. That double was Warehime's first of the season. Lexi Wohlers was another key player, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 2-for-2.

Carolina Forest was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .571. That's the best batting average they've posted all season.

Carolina Forest's record now sits at 5-1. As for Wilson Hall, they now have a losing record of 1-2.

Coming up, Carolina Forest will welcome Heritage at 7:00 p.m. on March 14th. Carolina Forest's pitching crew has only allowed 2.5 runs per game this season, so Heritage's hitters will have their work cut out for them. Wilson Hall will have a little extra prep time after the defeat as they won't be playing again for a while. They'll take on Laurence Manning Academy at 6:00 p.m. on March 18th.
