Football Game Preview: Roseburg Indians vs. North Eugene Highlanders

The Roseburg Indians will face off against the North Eugene Highlanders at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Roseburg is coming into the matchup on a four-game losing streak.

On Friday, Roseburg came up short against Thurston and fell 26-14.

For whatever reason, it's the away team that's had the advantage when North Eugene and Springfield meet (six straight games heading into this one) and that held true again on Friday. The Highlanders and the Millers were almost perfectly matched up, but the Highlanders suffered a 35-34 loss. While the Highlanders had to settle for second, they closed the game well in the third quarter, where they outscored the Millers 13-0.

Roseburg will have to contain D'Mariyae Ireland as he made an impact in North Eugene's last game. He rushed for 135 yards and two touchdowns, and also threw for 236 yards on 14 of 27 attempts. Solger Pescosolido was another key player, gaining 91 total yards and a touchdown.

Roseburg's defeat dropped their record down to 1-4. As for North Eugene, their loss was their first in the league, dropping their league record down to 2-1 and their overall record down to 3-2.
