Volleyball Recap: Lewis Mills Comes Up Short

Lewis Mills was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their fifth straight loss. They lost 3-0 to Maloney. The result was an unpleasant reminder to Lewis Mills of the 3-0 defeat they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in May of 2024.

Lewis Mills was held off the scoreboard, but that almost wasn't the case: they kept the third set very close. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-13, 25-8, 25-23.

Their offense was headlined by Jack Biggs and Gage Velliquette, who picked up two kills apiece. They got some help from Andrew Hurd and his five assists. Finally, Noah Galvin kept Lewis Mills' defense grounded, leading the team with three blocks.

Lewis Mills' loss dropped their record down to 1-17. As for Maloney, the win was the fifth in a row for them, bringing their record up to 18-1.

As of now, neither Lewis Mills nor Maloney have any future games scheduled.
