Softball Game Preview: Holcomb Longhorns vs. Spearville Lancers

The Holcomb Longhorns will head out on the road to challenge the Spearville Lancers at 4:00 p.m. on Monday. Holcomb is looking for their season's first victory.

Holcomb lost 14-4 to Cimarron on Tuesday. That's two games in a row now that the Longhorns have lost by exactly ten runs.

Meanwhile, Spearville came up short against Southwestern Heights on Thursday, falling 11-1. The match marked the Lancers' lowest-scoring game so far this season.

This is the second loss in a row for Spearville and nudges their season record down to 8-2. As for Holcomb, their loss dropped their record down to 0-6.

Holcomb took their win against Spearville when the teams last played back in April of 2024 by a conclusive 7-1 score. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Longhorns since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
