Soccer Game Preview: South Aiken vs. Aiken

The South Aiken Thoroughbreds will head out to face off against the Aiken Fighting Green Hornets at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. South Aiken is coming into the contest hot, having won their last four games.

South Aiken's defense heads into the game hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Tuesday. Everything went their way against Midland Valley as they made off with a 5-0 win. The result was nothing new for South Aiken, who have now won six matchups by three goals or more so far this season.

They hit Midland Valley with a four-pronged attack, as the team got scores from Zoe Schifer (2), Madee Whittle, Kat Dalbec, and Adriana Sansonese.

Meanwhile, after soaring to four goals the game before, Aiken was a bit more limited in their contest on Tuesday. They fell 2-0 to North Augusta. Considering the last time Aiken couldn't score was back in March, the team can't take the result too hard.

Aiken dropped their record down to 7-7 with the defeat, which was their fourth straight on the road. As for South Aiken, their victory bumped their record up to 8-4-2.

South Aiken was able to grind out a solid win over Aiken in their previous matchup last Tuesday, winning 3-1. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Thoroughbreds since the team won't have the home-pitch advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
