Basketball Recap: Davenport West Comes Up Short

If Davenport West was riding high fresh off their 59-33 takedown of Davenport Central last Friday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Davenport West Falcons had to suffer through a 84-20 loss at the hands of the Pleasant Valley Spartans. While losing is never fun, the Falcons can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Iowa basketball rankings (they are ranked 273rd, while the Spartans are ranked 70th).

Davenport West's defeat was their fifth straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 1-8. As for Pleasant Valley, their victory bumped their record up to 7-4.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Davenport West will head out to take on Central DeWitt at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Pleasant Valley, they will head out on the road to face off against North Scott at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday.
