Recap: Alexander Cougars vs. South Paulding Spartans
The Alexander Cougars's game last Tuesday was a tough loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Thursday. They managed a 43-39 victory over South Paulding. That's another feather in the cap for Alexander, who also won these teams' last head-to-head.
Alexander found their leader in underclassman Nimah Ibidunni, who dropped a double-double on 16 points and 11 rebounds. Ibidunni hasn't dropped below two blocks for five straight games. Another player making a difference was Elon Williams, who scored ten points.
Despite the defeat, South Paulding had strong showings from Chalyse Brown, who scored 13 points along with five rebounds, and Chloe Vandyke, who scored 17 points along with four steals. Vandyke is trending in the right direction, as she's improved her point production for five games straight.
South Paulding struggled to work together and finished the game with only three assists. They were crushed by their opponents in that department as Alexander racked up 17 assists.
Alexander is on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five games, which provided a massive bump to their 14-10 record this season. As for South Paulding, their loss ended a four-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 9-16.
Alexander does not have any more games scheduled as of now. South Paulding also has no future games currently scheduled.
