Baseball Recap: Fairfield Union Takes a Loss

After soaring to 11 runs the game before, Fairfield Union was a bit more limited in their match on Thursday. They fell just short of the Logan Elm Braves by a score of 2-1. The Falcons were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Braves earlier this season, when they won 5-4.

Jacob Forson was a force to be reckoned with on the mound despite the final result: he didn't allow a single earned run over 5.1 innings pitched.

On the hitting side, Fairfield Union saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Garrett Dilcher, who went a perfect 4-for-4 with one triple, one stolen base, and one RBI. Dilcher is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as he's now snagged at least one in each of the last three games he's played.

Fairfield Union's loss ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 16-9. As for Logan Elm, the victory was the fourth in a row for them, bringing their record up to 6-17.

As of now, neither Fairfield Union nor the Braves have any future games scheduled.
