Soccer Recap: Montbello Takes a Loss

After flying high against Aurora Central on Monday, Montbello came back down to earth. The Warriors came up short against the George Washington Patriots on Thursday, falling 5-2.

Sergio Venegas wasn't going to let George Washington walk away unscathed as he scored both of Montbello's goals, bringing his season total up to five goals.

Montbello now has a losing record of 5-6-1. As for George Washington, they are on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 5-6-1 record this season.

We've got plenty of inter-league action coming up soon. Montbello is set to challenge their familiar foe Regis Groff at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Meanwhile, George Washington will square off against rival Thomas Jefferson at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
