After a string of eight wins, Stagg's good fortune finally ran out on Friday. They took a 2-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Brother Rice Crusaders. While getting shut out isn't ideal, the Chargers haven't been shut out since back in April.
Michael Kos paced Stagg's offense, picking up six kills. Kos got some help from Dennis Tocila and his 19 assists.
Brother Rice was led to victory by Ryne Collins and Paul Baker. Collins had seven digs and one assist, while Baker had three digs and three aces. That's the most aces Baker has posted since back in May of 2024.
Stagg's defeat dropped their record down to 18-8. As for Brother Rice, the win (which was their fourth in a row) raised their record to 24-5.
Stagg has already played their next contest, a 2-0 loss against Downers Grove North on the 10th. As for Brother Rice, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 2-0 victory against Hinsdale South on the 10th.
