Recap: Castle Knights vs. Evansville Memorial Tigers
The Castle Knights were the 58-53 winner over the Evansville Memorial Tigers when they last played one another back in January of 2023, but their luck changed this time around. Castle took a 66-58 hit to the loss column at the hands of Evansville Memorial on Thursday. Despite running the score up even higher than they did last Saturday (57), Castle still had to take the loss.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Evansville Memorial to victory, but perhaps none more so than Avery Kelley, who dropped a double-double on 24 points and 11 rebounds. Another player making a difference was Myla Browning, who scored ten points along with six assists and five rebounds.
Castle's loss dropped their record down to 10-8. As for Evansville Memorial, their win was their 15th straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 14-3.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Castle will take on Vincennes Lincoln at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Evansville Memorial, they will stay at home for another game and welcome Linton-Stockton at 1:30 p.m. on January 13th. Linton-Stockton has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games.
