Softball Recap: Addison Knights vs. Waverly Wolverines
Addison proved they can win big last Wednesday (they won by 11) but on Saturday they proved they can win the close ones too. They narrowly escaped with a win as the squad sidled past the Waverly Wolverines 8-6.
Sadie Strauss made a big impact while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, striking out ten batters over seven innings while giving up three earned (and three unearned) runs off eight hits. Strauss was also big at the plate, going 3-for-4 with two triples, three RBI, and a run.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Ava Knowles, who went 2-for-4 with two triples and two runs. Hadleigh Watson was another key contributor, scoring two runs and stealing two bases while going 2-for-4.
Addison's victory bumped their record up to 2-0.
