Football Recap: T.C. Roberson Takes a Loss

T.C. Roberson played a tough contest on Friday in which they were outscored in every quarter. They were dealt a 34-6 defeat at the hands of the South Point Red Raiders. While losing is never fun, the Rams can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' North Carolina football rankings (they are ranked 90th, while the Red Raiders are ranked 31st).

Despite the loss, T.C. Roberson saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Karod Harris threw for 178 yards and one TD, and also rushed for 40 yards.

South Point's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Kaveaun Pless, who rushed for 119 yards and a pair of touchdowns. Another player making a difference was Patrick Blee, who rushed for 79 yards and one score on only 11 carries.

This is the second loss in a row for T.C. Roberson and nudges their season record down to 1-2. As for South Point, they have started the season off flawlessly and has a 2-0 record to show for it.

T.C. Roberson didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next match, a 20-14 defeat against Freedom on the 12th. As for South Point, they have also already played their next game, a 32-7 win against Mount Pleasant on the 12th.
