Basketball Recap: Minto Beats Fort Yukon for Their Fifth Straight Win

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Minto). They walked away with a 66-55 victory over the Fort Yukon Eagles on Saturday. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 56-54 on Friday.

Minto got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Asher Titus out in front who posted 19 points. Titus is crushing it when it comes to points: he's scored at least 19 every time he's taken the court this season. Another player making a difference was Jonathon David Jr., who earned 20 points.

Several Eagles players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Riley Strom, who had 18 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Nahshii Alexander, who posted 11 points.

The victory keeps them at an undefeated 4-0. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 61.2 points per game. As for Fort Yukon, they now have a losing record at 1-2.

Minto will get to enjoy the win for a while: their next game is against Birchwood Christian at 4:30 p.m. on January 16th. As for Fort Yukon, they will look to take advantage of their home court for the first time this season as they take on Andrew K. Demoski at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday.
