Softball Recap: West Plains Picks Up Third Consecutive Victory

West Plains waltzed into their game on Friday with two straight wins... but they left with three. They were the clear victors by a 12-1 margin over the Hereford Whitefaces. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 11-1 back in March.

The team relied heavily on Emory Chancler, who scored two runs and stole two bases while going 3-for-3. Those three hits gave her a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Brooklynn Diaz, who scored two runs while going 2-for-3.

West Plains always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .654. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.

West Plains pushed their record up to 10-12-1 with the victory, which was their third straight at home. Those home wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.0 runs on average over those games. As for Hereford, they have been struggling recently as they've lost eight of their last ten matches. That's put a noticeable dent in their 9-16 record this season.
