Basketball Recap: Rachel Graham's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Newton Homeschool over Wichita Defenders Homeschool

Newton HomeSchool entered their game against Wichita Defenders HomeSchool on Thursday without any home losses, but there's a first time for everything. The Newton HomeSchool Panthers lost 47-21 to the Wichita Defenders HomeSchool Defenders. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Defenders this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 65-13 back in December of 2024.

Newton HomeSchool lost despite a true team effort on offense. The best among them was Rachel Graham, who posted 13 points. She has been hot recently, having also posted two or more steals the last four times she's played.

Newton HomeSchool's defeat dropped their record down to 10-6. As for Wichita Defenders HomeSchool, their win bumped their record up to 6-9.

Newton HomeSchool didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 41-32 loss against Fellowship Baptist Academy on the 15th. As for Wichita Defenders HomeSchool, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next contest, a 49-12 victory against Newton HomeSchool on the 15th.
