Football Recap: Savanna Rebels vs. Century Centurions

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Saddleback, Savanna was happy to have turned things around on Friday. Everything went their way against the Century Centurions as the Savanna Rebels made off with a 44-20 victory. The Rebels' offense stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most points they've scored all season.

Savanna was led to victory by Diego Perez and Jake Dorsi. Perez rushed for 122 yards and four touchdowns on only ten carries, while Dorsi rushed for 131 yards and a touchdown on only 15 carries. Dorsi's rushing production has been exceptional recently as that marked his third straight game with at least 101 rushing yards dating back to last season.

Perhaps unsurprisingly given the score, Savanna was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 485 rushing yards. That's the most rushing yards they've posted since the start of last season.

On the defensive side of the ball, a lot of the credit has to go to Savanna's defense and their four sacks. Century's QB won't forget Isaac Real anytime soon given he sacked him three times. The dominant performance also gave Real a new career-high in rushing yards.

The win snapped Savanna's losing streak at seven games and leaves them with a 2-7 record. As for Century, their loss dropped their record down to 5-3.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Savanna will welcome Godinez Fundamental at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday. As for Century, they will host Saddleback at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Saddleback is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 27 points per game this season.
