Basketball Recap: Helena Triumphs

Helena was handed a 45-point loss in their previous outing, but that didn't affect their clutch gene on Tuesday. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 30-28 win over the Spain Park Jaguars. The Huskies have seen this before: they got the W the last time they saw the Jaguars, too.

Several Jaguars players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Ava Leonard, who posted ten points. Abby Whatley also deserves some recognition as she posted her first assist of the season.

Helena's victory ended a three-game drought on the road and puts them at 11-8. As for Spain Park, they now have a losing record at 10-11.

Helena didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 50-39 win against Pelham on the 9th. Spain Park has also already played their next contest, a 48-34 defeat against Chelsea on the 9th.
