The Gilmour Academy Lancers are taking a road trip to take on the Riverside Beavers at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Gilmour Academy is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 10.7 runs per game this season.

Gilmour Academy easily dispatched St. Joseph Academy on Wednesday, but unfortunately both the margin and the ultimate result were a different story in this one. The Lancers fell just short of South by a score of 9-7 on Thursday. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest loss the Lancers have suffered since April 29, 2024.

Ava Gundling was cooking despite her team's loss, getting on base in three of her four plate appearances with one home run, one stolen base, and two RBI. The team also got some help courtesy of Ava Paradise, who went 2-for-3 with two stolen bases, two runs, and one double.

Meanwhile, Riverside had already won ten in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 9.3 runs) and they went ahead and made it 11 on Friday. They were the clear victors by an 11-1 margin over the Hilltoppers. Considering the Beavers have won nine matchups by more than five runs this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.

Riverside's win was their tenth straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 12-2. The home victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.3 runs on average over those games. As for Gilmour Academy, their defeat was their first of the season and makes their record 6-1.
