Soccer Game Preview: Rio Rancho vs. Cleveland + How To Watch

The Rio Rancho Rams will head out to take on the Cleveland Storm at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Neither squad made it on the board the last time they hit the pitch, so they've probably got a bit of extra motivation.

Rio Rancho is probably headed into the matchup with a chip on their shoulder considering Piedra Vista just ended the team's eight-match winning streak on Saturday. They fell just short of the Panthers by a score of 1-0. The shutout was out of character for Rio Rancho seeing as the last time the team failed to score was back in August.

Meanwhile, Cleveland faced Volcano Vista in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Friday. The Storm came up short against the Hawks, falling 6-0. Cleveland fans who chose to attend the game sure picked the wrong one: it was the first time the team has lost against Volcano Vista since Friday.

Cleveland's loss dropped their record down to 4-8-2. As for Rio Rancho, their defeat was their first in the district, dropping their district record down to 3-1 and their overall record down to 11-3.

Rio Rancho might still be hurting after the 5-0 loss they got from Cleveland in their previous matchup back in October of 2024. Can the Rams avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
