Softball Recap: Concord Takes a Tough Playoff Loss

Concord and Elkhart squared off in some playoff action on Monday, but Concord had to settle for second. They came up short against the Lions, falling 13-5. The Minutemen have struggled against the Lions recently, as the game was their fifth consecutive lost meeting.

Esmeralda Perez made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and went a perfect 4-for-4 with two runs and one double. Janessa Bennett was another key player, going 3-for-4 with two RBI and one double.

Concord's loss dropped their record down to 15-11. As for Elkhart, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 15-12.

Concord does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Elkhart, they will face off against Northridge at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. The Lions' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Raiders have averaged an impressive 7.6 runs per game this season.
