River Falls hadn't done well against New Richmond recently (they were 1-8 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Thursday. The Wildcats won by a run and slipped past the Tigers 8-7. With that victory, the Wildcats brought their scoring average up to 6.3 runs per game.

AUDRA ADERMANN spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered three earned (and four unearned) runs on 12 hits. Those hits marked the first that she allowed this season.

At the plate, the team relied heavily on JASMIN SCHWANTZ, who went 1-for-3 with one home run and two RBI. That hit marked the first that she got this season. Another player making a difference was HUDSON WALKER, who scored a run and stole a base while going 2-for-3.

River Falls' win bumped their record up to 4-2. As for New Richmond, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-1.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. River Falls will head out to square off against Somerset at 4:30 p.m. on Friday. As for New Richmond, they will venture away from home to take on D.C. Everest at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday.
