Basketball Recap: Iron Mountain Comes Up Short

If Iron Mountain was riding high fresh off their 73-27 takedown of Gwinn last Friday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Iron Mountain Mountaineers fell to the Kingsford Flivvers 57-53. The Mountaineers were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Flivvers earlier this season, when they won 56-55.

Iron Mountain's defeat dropped their record down to 16-3. As for Kingsford, the win (which was their fourth in a row) raised their record to 15-3.

Iron Mountain and Kingsford should be looking forward to their upcoming games as both have a sizable advantage in the MaxPreps Michigan Rankings. Iron Mountain (ranked 39th) will meet Hancock (ranked 714th) at 6:15 p.m. on Friday. Iron Mountain will be looking to extend their current 11-game winning streak. Meanwhile, Kingsford will face off against Peshtigo at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday up 284 places (31 vs. 315). Iron Mountain will be looking to keep their three-game home win streak alive.
