Basketball Recap: Ocean View Comes Up Short

If Ocean View was feeling good fresh off their 88-52 takedown of Westminster last Wednesday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Ocean View Seahawks took a 75-63 hit to the loss column at the hands of the California Condors on Friday. Sadly, that's the second time they've come up short against the Seahawks this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 67-55 last Tuesday.

When it comes to explaining why Ocean View lost, don't look at Zeke Case. Despite the final result, he dropped a double-double on 23 points and 13 boards. Case is also on a roll when it comes to steals, as he's now grabbed three or more in the last three games he's played. Logan Covarrubias was another key player, going 6 for 11 on his way to 15 points and seven rebounds.

Ocean View's defeat dropped their record down to 3-10. As for California, with the victory, they broke their three-game losing streak and moved their record to 5-9.

Ocean View will look to defend their home court on Monday against Gahr at 3:00 p.m. Gahr will roll in looking for their fourth straight win, something Ocean View surely won't give up without a fight. As for California, they will be taking part in a tournament against Temple City at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. One thing working in California's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points in their last 13 matches.
