Softball Recap: Desert Edge Takes a Loss

Desert Edge had lost three straight on the road, but on Monday they dropped their record down to 9-14 to make it four. They lost 11-1 to the Arizona College Prep Knights. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Scorpions of the 1-0 loss they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in March of 2023.

As for Arizona College Prep, their win bumped their record up to 22-7. They might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won 18 matchups by six runs or more this season.

For Arizona College Prep's part, Ava Moynihan looked comfortable as she didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit while striking out six over four innings pitched. Moynihan has been consistent recently: she hasn't given up more than two walks in three consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Shelby O'Donnal was incredible, going 1-for-2 with two stolen bases, three runs, and one double. Those two stolen bases gave her a new career-high. Julia Sherman was another key player, going 1-for-3 with one triple, two RBI, and one run.

As of now, neither Desert Edge nor Arizona College Prep have any future games scheduled.
