Basketball Recap: Harrells Christian Academy Takes a Loss

Harrells Christian Academy was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their fifth straight loss. They were beaten by the Rocky Mount Academy Eagles 59-22. While losing is never fun, the Crusaders can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' North Carolina basketball rankings (they are ranked 555th, while the Eagles are ranked 53rd).

Rocky Mount Academy was led to victory by Taylor Carmichael and Isabella Daza. Carmichael posted 21 points and five rebounds, while Daza earned 14 points and eight boards. The matchup was Carmichael's tenth in a row with at least ten points. Berkeley Miller was another key player, putting up ten points and five rebounds.

Harrells Christian Academy's defeat dropped their record down to 2-17. As for Rocky Mount Academy, the win keeps them at an undefeated 17-0.

Harrells Christian Academy won't have much time to rest: their next contest is against Faith Christian at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Rocky Mount Academy does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
