Recap: Mobile Christian Leopards vs. Blacksher Bulldogs
The Mobile Christian Leopards were the 54-42 winner over the Blacksher Bulldogs when they last played one another two weeks ago, but their luck changed this time around. Mobile Christian took a 47-38 hit to the loss column at the hands of Blacksher on Thursday. The loss was a bit of a surprise, as Mobile Christian came into the match with a sizable advantage in MaxPreps' Alabama basketball rankings (they are ranked 117th, while Blacksher is ranked 276th).
Despite the defeat, Mobile Christian had strong showings from Kayleigh Todd, who scored 10 points along with 5 steals, and Hadley Kelly, who scored 8 points along with 11 rebounds and 3 steals. Kelly is absolutely dominating the block category: she's posted at least two every time she's taken the court this season. The team also got some help courtesy of Camryn Lawson, who scored 4 points along with 8 rebounds and 7 steals.
This is the second loss in a row for Mobile Christian and nudges their season record down to 7-2. As for Blacksher, their victory bumped their record up to 2-3.
Mobile Christian will head out on the road to face off against UMS-Wright Prep at 5:30 p.m. on Monday. UMS-Wright Prep will be looking to extend their current three-game winning streak. As for Blacksher, they will be playing at home against Shields at 6:00 p.m. on Monday.
