Soccer Game Preview: Caldwell Academy vs. Westchester Country Day

The Caldwell Academy Eagles are taking a road trip to take on the Westchester Country Day Wildcats at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Caldwell Academy will be strutting in after a win while Westchester Country Day will be coming in after a loss.

Caldwell Academy will roll into the match after a wild two-game stretch: they only put up one goal on Friday, then bounced right back against Calvary Day School on Tuesday. The Eagles walked away with a 6-4 victory over the Cougars. Alex Broyles was a massive factor in the win as he booted in three goals all by himself.

Meanwhile, while it was all tied up 0-0 at halftime, Westchester Country Day was not quite Wesleyan Christian Academy's equal in the second half on Tuesday. They took a 2-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Trojans. While losing is never fun, Westchester Country Day can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' North Carolina soccer rankings (they are ranked 108th, while Wesleyan Christian Academy are ranked 12th).

Westchester Country Day's defeat dropped their record down to 10-5. As for Caldwell Academy, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won eight of their last nine matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 12-3 record this season.

Caldwell Academy skirted past Westchester Country Day 2-1 in their previous meeting back in September. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Eagles since the squad won't have the home-pitch advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
