Softball Recap: Hobbs Takes a Loss

Hobbs was the 11-6 winner over Organ Mountain when they last played one another on Friday, but their luck changed this time around. The Hobbs Eagles fell just short of the Organ Mountain Knights by a score of 14-13 on Friday. Despite running the score up even higher than they did in their prior game on Friday (11), the Eagles still had to take the loss.

Edyth Chavez stepped up to lead a balanced group of hitters: she went 3-for-4 with three runs, three doubles, and four RBI. That's the most RBI she has posted since back in March of 2024. Another player making a difference was Allison Garcia, who went 3-for-5 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs.

Hobbs now has a losing record of 1-2. As for Organ Mountain, the victory got them back to even at 1-1.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Hobbs will take on Goddard at 6:30 p.m. on March 7th. As for Organ Mountain, they will be taking part in a tournament against Kirtland Central at 1:30 p.m. on Friday.
