Basketball Recap: Immaculate Takes a Loss

Immaculate easily dispatched Brookfield last Thursday, but unfortunately both the margin and the ultimate result were a different story in this one. The Immaculate Mustangs fell just short of the Kolbe-Cathedral Cougars by a score of 51-48 on Tuesday. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Mustangs of the 54-49 loss they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in February of 2024.

Despite the defeat, Immaculate saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Kendra Foy posted 24 points. Foy's evening made it four games in a row in which she has scored at least ten points. Elizabeth Mitchell was another key player, putting up seven points.

Immaculate's loss dropped their record down to 4-12. As for Kolbe-Cathedral, they now have a winning record of 3-2.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Immaculate will take on Stratford at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Kolbe-Cathedral, they will square off against New Milford at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
