Recap: North Sanpete Hawks vs. Delta Rabbits
The North Sanpete Hawks's game on Friday was all tied up 28-28 at the half, but sadly for them it didn't stay that way. They fell to Delta 62-56. North Sanpete was given a dose of their own medicine in this game as Delta apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in January of 2023.
When it comes to explaining why North Sanpete lost, one person who can't be blamed is Dimick Huntington. Despite the final result, he scored 16 points along with five rebounds and three steals. Huntington has been hot recently, having posted two or more steals the last four times he's played. Another player making a difference was Jack Wilkey, who scored eight points.
Delta's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Cai Henderson, who dropped a double-double on 24 points and 11 rebounds. The match was Henderson's 12th in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Jaytn Brough, who scored 13 points along with five rebounds.
North Sanpete bumped their record down to 6-6 with that defeat, which was their third straight on the road. As for Delta, their victory ended a three-game drought at home and bumped them up to 4-8.
North Sanpete will take on Richfield at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Richfield will be looking to extend their current three-game winning streak. As for Delta, they will head out on the road to face off against Juab at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
