Baseball Recap: Orangewood Christian Has No Trouble Against Edgewater

Orangewood Christian won the last time they faced Edgewater and things went their way on Friday too. The Orangewood Christian Rams blew past the Edgewater Eagles 9-2. The result was nothing new for the Rams, who have now won three matchups by seven runs or more so far this season.

The team relied heavily on Jack Benson, who went 2-for-4 with two doubles, one stolen base, and two RBI. What's more, he posted two hits, the most he's had since back in April of 2024. Another player making a difference was Austin Wendorf, who scored a run while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances.

Orangewood Christian's victory bumped their record up to 4-1. As for Edgewater, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 1-5.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Orangewood Christian will hit the road for the first time this season to square off against Trinity Prep at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Orangewood Christian's pitching crew has only allowed 1.2 runs per game this season, so Trinity Prep's hitters will have their work cut out for them. As for Edgewater, they will take on Jones in a tournament on Monday. Edgewater is facing Jones at the right time seeing as Jones is stuck on a four-game losing streak.
