Baseball Game Preview: Grapeland Sandies vs. Centerville Tigers

Grapeland is preparing for their first district matchup of the season on Tuesday. They will be defending their home field for the first time this season when they go up against the Centerville Tigers at 7:00 p.m. The two teams have allowed few runs on average, (Grapeland 0.8, Centerville 2.4) so any runs scored will be well earned.

Centerville will be up against a hot Grapeland squad: the team just extended their winning streak to four. Grapeland never let Cayuga get on the board and left with a 3-0 win on Friday.

Ricky Gilmore was excellent, scoring a run while going 2-for-3.

Meanwhile, Centerville unfortunately witnessed the end of their five-game winning streak last Friday. They took a 6-1 hit to the loss column at the hands of Palestine. Having soared to a lofty 13 runs in the game before, the Tigers couldn't push the score so high this time.

Grapeland's victory bumped their record up to 4-0. As for Centerville, their defeat dropped their record down to 8-2-1.
