Baseball Recap: Trinity Presbyterian Find Success

It can be hard to translate regular season success to the playoffs, but Trinity Presbyterian had no problem doing just that on Thursday. They beat the Handley Tigers by the very same score they won with in their prior game: 14-3. The Wildcats haven't had any issues with the Tigers recently, as the game was their third consecutive victory against them.

Patton Mitchell made a big impact no matter where he played. He didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only two hits over four innings pitched. Mitchell was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-4 with two RBI. That's the most RBI he has posted since back in March.

In other batting news, Fleming Hall was incredible, going 2-for-3 with three RBI, two runs, and one triple. Another player making a difference was Blake Moses, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with four RBI and one run.

Trinity Presbyterian was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .542. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Handley only posted a batting average of .167.

Trinity Presbyterian's win bumped their record up to 22-8. As for Handley, they have been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 19-14 record this season.

Trinity Presbyterian will have a chance to go back-to-back against Handley: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 1:00 p.m. on Friday.
