Softball Game Preview: Arcadia Apaches vs. Pasadena Bulldogs

For the second straight game, Arcadia will face off against Pasadena. The Apaches will square off against the Bulldogs at 3:45 p.m. on Friday.

Arcadia is headed in fresh off scoring the most runs they have all season. They were the clear victors by an 18-3 margin over Pasadena on Thursday. Considering the Apaches have won seven games by more than five runs this season, Thursday's blowout was nothing new.

Quinn Sullivan spent all six innings played on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered only one earned (and two unearned) runs on two hits and racked up nine Ks. She has been consistent recently: she hasn't tossed less than nine strikeouts in three consecutive appearances.

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Jace Kinder, who got on base in all five of her plate appearances with five RBI, three runs, and one stolen base. Those five RBI gave her a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Isabella Martinez, who got on base in all five of her plate appearances with two stolen bases, two runs, and one RBI.

Arcadia hit smart and finished the game with only one strikeout. The team has now struck out at least five batters in four consecutive matches.

Arcadia has been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five contests. That's provided a massive bump to their 12-8-1 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 8.4 runs over those games. As for Pasadena, they are on a five-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 4-13.
