Softball Recap: Northwestern Comes Up Short at Home Against Hialeah-Miami Lakes

Northwestern unfortunately couldn't capitalize on their home-field advantage in their season opener. They lost 17-1 to the Hialeah-Miami Lakes Trojans on Monday. Sadly, the loss continues a streak the team started last season, making it four in a row.

The victory made it two in a row for Hialeah-Miami Lakes and bumps their season record up to 4-1.

Coming up, Northwestern will head out to challenge Carol City at 3:30 p.m. on Thursday. As for Hialeah-Miami Lakes, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Southwest at 3:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Hialeah-Miami Lakes is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 10.4 runs per game this season.
