Preview: Otis-Bison Cougars vs. Ashland Blue Jays

Otis-Bison has enjoyed the comforts of home their last two games, but now they'll head out on the road. They will take on the Ashland Blue Jays at 6:30 p.m. on Friday.

Last Tuesday, Otis-Bison was the victim of a rough 43-22 defeat at the hands of the Oilers. While losing is never fun, Otis-Bison can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Kansas basketball rankings (they are ranked 297th, while the Oilers are ranked 87th).

Meanwhile, Ashland entered their tilt with the Tigers with two consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with three. Ashland secured a 26-21 W over the Tigers on Tuesday.

Ashland's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Biannca Ceniceros, who scored seven points along with five rebounds and two steals. Ceniceros hasn't dropped below two steals for 13 straight games. Lily McPhail was another key contributor, scoring five points along with eight rebounds.

Otis-Bison dropped their record down to 5-9 with that loss, which was their fourth straight at home. As for Ashland, they have been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 6-8 record this season.

Otis-Bison ended up a good deal behind the Blue Jays in their previous matchup back in February of 2023, losing 43-26. Can Otis-Bison avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
