Basketball Recap: Westminster Christian Academy Lions vs. Lake Oconee Academy Titans
Westminster Christian Academy couldn't capitalize on their home-court advantage in their season opener. They took a 54-49 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Lake Oconee Academy Titans. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Lions of the 54-41 defeat they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in December of 2023.
Westminster Christian Academy lost on Thursday despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Josiah Richards, who went 6 for 8 en route to 12 points plus five rebounds and two steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Asa Morecraft, who went 5 for 12 en route to 12 points.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Westminster Christian Academy will hit the road for the first time this season to square off against Madison County at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Lake Oconee Academy, they will head out to challenge Elite Scholars Academy at 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
