Basketball Recap: Evan Kennedy's Big Game Can't Quite Lead West Rowan over Central Cabarrus

West Rowan lost against Central Cabarrus back in January and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The West Rowan Falcons took a 73-55 bruising from the Central Cabarrus Vikings.

West Rowan lost despite a true team effort on offense. The best among them was Evan Kennedy, who shot 5-for-8 from beyond the arc and dropped a double-double with 17 points and ten rebounds. The dominant performance gave him a new career-high in boards. Josiah Young was another key player, dropping a double-double with 13 points and ten rebounds.

Kevonta' Martin continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines for Central Cabarrus, going 12-for-20 to rack up 30 points and six boards. Thanks to that strong game, Martin now owns an excellent 45.7% shooting accuracy. The team also got some help courtesy of Infinite Morrow, who dropped a double-double with 13 points and ten rebounds.

West Rowan's loss dropped their record down to 7-14. As for Central Cabarrus, they have been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five games, which provided a massive bump to their 12-10 record this season.

West Rowan didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 58-45 win against East Rowan on the 11th. As for Central Cabarrus, they have also already played their next contest, a 65-53 defeat against Robinson on the 11th.
