There's no place like home for Long Beach Poly, who bounced back after a loss on the road last Friday. They came out on top in a nail-biter against the Millikan Rams on Friday, sneaking past 24-22. The final result isn't all that surprising considering the Jackrabbits' considerable advantage in MaxPreps' California football rankings (they are ranked 47th, while the Rams are ranked 167th).

Long Beach Poly found their leader in sophomore Elijah Dawson, who rushed for 89 yards and one TD.

Long Beach Poly has been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five games. That's provided a nice bump to their 4-3 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 27.2 points over those games. As for Millikan, their defeat dropped their record down to 4-4.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Long Beach Poly will take on Woodrow Wilson at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The Bruins' defense has only allowed 14.9 points per game this season, so the Jackrabbits' offense will have their work cut out for them. As for Millikan, they will face off against Lakewood at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
