Preview: Providence-St. Mel Knights vs. Leo Lions
After three games on the road, Providence-St. Mel is heading back home. They will take on the Leo Lions at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Given that the two teams suffered a loss in their last game, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this contest.
Providence-St. Mel suffered their biggest defeat since December 12, 2023 on Saturday. They were beaten by Providence Catholic 68-39. The defeat unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Providence-St. Mel in their matchups with Providence Catholic: they've now lost four in a row.
Even though the team lost, they still had their share of impressive performances. One of the most dominant came from Victor Norris, who scored 14 points. Lachon Adams was another key contributor, scoring ten points.
Meanwhile, Leo unfortunately witnessed the end of their three-game winning streak on Friday. The match between Leo and Fenwick wasn't particularly close, with Leo falling 44-29. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points Leo has scored all season.
Providence-St. Mel bumped their record down to 4-12 with that loss, which was their sixth straight on the road. As for Leo, their loss ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 9-11.
Providence-St. Mel came up short against Leo when the teams last played back in December of 2022, falling 68-64. Can Providence-St. Mel avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
