Volleyball Recap: Cumby Takes a Loss

Cumby was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their fourth straight defeat. They were a single set away from ending the streak, but they lost a 3-2 heartbreaker at the hands of the Lone Oak Buffaloes. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Buffaloes this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 2-1 on Saturday.

In a back-and-forth that saw neither team win consecutive sets, Cumby sadly dropped the once that decided the match. The final score came out to 25-14, 19-25, 25-15, 21-25, 15-8.

Cumby's loss dropped their record down to 3-9. As for Lone Oak, they are on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five games. That's provided a nice bump to their 10-5 record this season.

Cumby will look to defend their home court on Thursday against Bells at 9:00 a.m. As for Lone Oak, they will take on Grand Saline in a tournament on Thursday.
