Baseball Game Preview: West Clermont Wolves vs. Anderson Raptors

The West Clermont Wolves will square off against the Anderson Raptors at 5:00 p.m. on Friday.

Kings hit West Clermont with a four-run third inning on Thursday, which goes a long way in explaining the final result. The Wolves came up short against the Knights, falling 9-2. Wolves fans who chose to attend the game sure picked the wrong one: it was the first time the team's lost against the Knights since on Thursday.

West Clermont saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Jacob Huddleson, who went 1-for-2 with one run.

The home team had come away the winner the last four times Anderson and Milford had met, but sadly for the fans who attended this one that wasn't the case. The Raptors walked away with a 6-2 win over the Eagles on Thursday. The victory continues a trend for the Raptors in their matchups with the Eagles: they've now won three in a row.

Brennan Trowbridge tossed a big game, tossing 5.2 innings while giving up just two earned runs off four hits. What's more, he posted four strikeouts, the most he's had since back in April.

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Hudson Best, who went 2-for-3 with two runs and one stolen base. He is becoming a predictor of Anderson's success: when he posts at least two runs the team is 7-1 (and 6-8 when he doesn't). The team also got some help courtesy of Tommy Huster, who went 1-for-3 with two RBI and one run.

Anderson's win bumped their record up to 13-9. As for West Clermont, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 10-12.
