Basketball Recap: Parowan Takes a Loss

Parowan lost against Carbon back in December of 2018 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Saturday. The Parowan Rams took a 64-52 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Carbon Dinos. The Rams have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Carbon got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Ty Mortensen out in front who went 5 for 8 on his way to 10 points in addition to eight boards and five blocks. Those five blocks gave Mortensen a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Carter Warburton, who went 5 of 7 on his way to 13 points and seven assists.

Parowan's defeat dropped their record down to 3-9. As for Carbon, their victory ended a seven-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 3-9.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Parowan will venture away from home to challenge South Summit at 4:00 p.m. on Monday. South Summit knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with 55 points or more in their past five contests -- so hopefully Parowan likes a good challenge. As for Carbon, they will head out to face off against Manti at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
