Ooltewah typically has all the answers at home, but on Monday East Hamilton proved too difficult a challenge. They walked away with a 5-1 win over the Owls. That result was just more of the same for these two, as the Hurricanes also won the last time the pair played back in May of 2024.

Ooltewah's batters probably weren't too happy with Yulai Woodruff, who pitched a no hitter and racked up 15 Ks (she gave up six walks). Woodruff has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't given up more than one earned run in four consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Katherine Woody was incredible, going 2-for-3 with one home run, three RBI, and one double. Those three RBI gave her a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Georgiana Kapo, who scored a run while going 1-for-2.

The victory made it two in a row for East Hamilton and bumps their season record up to 9-6. The wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered a grand total of 4 runs in those games. As for Ooltewah, their defeat ended a nine-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 19-5.

East Hamilton and Ooltewah should be looking forward to their upcoming games as both have a sizable advantage in the MaxPreps Tennessee Rankings. The Hurricanes will challenge Howard Tech at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday with a big rank advantage (42 vs. 247). Meanwhile, Ooltewah (ranked 83rd) will meet Red Bank (ranked 300th) at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
