Cousino took a loss when they played away from home on Tuesday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Thursday. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 9-8 win over Lamphere. The victory continues a trend for the Patriots in their matchups with the Rams: they've now won three in a row.
Haley Neal was a major factor no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, pitching four innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off four hits. Neal was also big at the plate, going a perfect 3-for-3 with two runs.
